Sectile is a method of cutting marble and stone material in different forms (rhomboidal, square,
triangular and lozenge). These stones are usually bigger then the common tiles and they appear to be
an “inlay” product and not a proper mosaic. The most beautiful result of this process are the "musive"
decorations associated to the inlay parts to produce some very unusual frames. The "Sectile" was used
on the floors of some medieval churches (see the Basilica S. Marco in Venice and the floor of Amalfi and
Salerno's Chathedrals). As a tribute to the important venetian examples we decided
to use the same name of the lagoon streets for our
